Hedley & Bennett launches aprons like drops and keeps the plain one on top
What they get right
- A collab shelf where every license gets a one-line pitch in the brand's own voice.
- One apron cut sold at $86 plain, $96 by creators and $120 to $129 licensed.
- Products named like a pantry: Paprika, Broccolini, Shiso Green, Enoki White.

Three words, and the plain apron goes first
The homepage headline is three words: “Damn Good Aprons”1. No feature list, no claim about cotton weight. Right under it, the Best Sellers row opens with the most ordinary thing in the store, a Midnight Blue Essential Apron at $861.
The product page keeps the voice going. The Midnight Blue apron is “quietly confident” and “made for chefs who make the hard stuff look completely effortless”2. Founder Ellen Bennett puts it the same way on her own page: “To me an apron is a game-day jersey”6. The brand talks like a cook who likes the gear, and it lets the plain version carry the first impression.

Every license gets its own line
The Kitchen Collaborations row reads like a stack of tiny ads. ONE PIECE is “Gear for captains of any great feast.” Marvel's Spider-Man is “With great power comes great responsibility... and great meals.” Rick and Morty is “Things are getting weird in here. No portal fluid required.” MLB is “Meet your new lucky game day jersey”1.
Each line borrows the fan's language and lands it in the kitchen. That's how a license stops looking like a print on fabric and starts looking like a reason to buy a second apron. Bennett says the brand turned collaborations with Vans, Crocs and the NFL into “a repeat-purchase engine”5. On the site, you can see the engine running: the New Arrivals row on Oct 23 had Sanji from ONE PIECE, three new Marvel Comics aprons and a Rick and Morty apron1.

One apron, four price points
Under the prints, most of the shelf is the same cut. The plain Essential Apron is $86. Creator versions, like Kenny Song and Jessica Natvig, are $96. ONE PIECE, Spider-Man and Rick and Morty are $120. Rifle Paper Co., the NFL, MLB and the new Marvel Comics aprons are $1291,2.
The Midnight Blue product page shows the ladder in one row under “Shop Essential”: NFL at $129, Florals at $129, Foodie at $96, MLB at $1292. The pattern, the partner and the price change. The pockets, straps and canvas the brand has “relentlessly refined for over a decade” stay put2. A shopper who wants the work apron gets it at $86. A Spider-Man fan pays $34 more for the story.

Colors named like a grocery list
Browse the Best Sellers and the color names read like a pantry shelf: Paprika chef's towels, a Broccolini smock, a Shiso Green Dutch oven, an Enoki White spatula, a Caviar Black crossback1.
It's a small choice with a big job. “Navy” and “olive” describe fabric. “Broccolini” and “Paprika” tell you who this is for before you read a word of copy. The names also travel: the same Shiso Green and Enoki White run across knives, tools and cookware, so the newer categories look like they've always been part of the family1.

A line cook who said yes before she had a company
Ellen Bennett was a 24-year-old line cook when her head chef said he was ordering new aprons. She told him, “Chef, I have an apron company,” before she had one6. She started with $300, and the first batch was, in her words, “a four out of 10”5.
She built the product with the people wearing it. Bennett worked directly with chefs like Nancy Silverton, and the company now says it outfits more than 9,000 restaurants5. The goal she names is longevity, not trend: “I want to be a Le Creuset. I want to be an All-Clad”5. That's why the plain apron leads. The collabs bring new fans in, and the Essential is the piece built to outlast the trend.
Where they are now
As of Oct 23, 2026, the store is live and the homepage carries a “Holiday Apron Drop” of Rifle Paper Co. prints next to the New Arrivals row1. In October alone, the brand emailed launches for Rifle Paper Co. aprons on Oct 4, the Marvel Comics collection on Oct 8, The H&B Chore Coat on Oct 13 and ONE PIECE's Sanji on Oct 157. The Chore Coat is $150 and the Marvel Comics aprons are $1291.
Put the Apron Guide where first-timers land
Hedley & Bennett already wrote the answer to a new shopper's first question. The H&B Apron Guide opens with “Don't know where to start? We got you. Find your apron below.” and walks through seven cuts, from the Essential to the Pinafore3. On the homepage, the only link to it sits in the footer under About1. Someone who lands on “Damn Good Aprons” and scrolls past Spider-Man, Rifle Paper Co. and a Dutch oven has to choose between an Essential, a Crossback, a Smock and a Pinafore without being told how they differ. Add one line under Best Sellers, in the guide's own words, linking to the guide. The page exists, the copy exists, and the shopper who needs it most is the one least likely to find the footer.

Four lines that do the trust work
Near the bottom of the homepage, four short lines carry the proof: “LASTS A LIFETIME, GUARANTEED,” “BATTLE-TESTED IN 9,000+ RESTAURANTS,” “OVER ONE MILLION APRONS SOLD” and “DESIGNED BY THE BEST CHEFS IN THE WORLD”1. The restaurant count matches what Bennett told Shopify5. It's the pro kitchen backing up the fun.

An $86 apron that sells the towels too
The Midnight Blue Essential Apron page shows 4.8 stars from 4,481 reviews and $862. Under the add-to-cart button sit “Lifetime Guarantee,” “Free Shipping Over $150” and “Easy Returns.” Right below, a Complete the Set bundle pairs the apron with chef's towels and pot holders for $117.90 against $1312.

The best first-timer page is one click from the footer
The H&B Apron Guide starts with “Don't know where to start? We got you. Find your apron below,” then shows seven cuts side by side3. It explains that the Crossback “takes a little more effort to put on” than the Essential and is made for long hours3. It's honest, useful, and on the homepage it's linked only from the footer1.
