Five consumer brands made big moves between Oct 4 and Oct 11, 2026. Here's what happened, and what other founders can take from each one.

SpikedAde: acquired by Constellation Brands

Constellation Brands, whose beer business is anchored by Corona Extra and Modelo Especial, bought SpikedAde, a vodka drink in sports drink flavors with zero sugar and 100 calories. It paid $75 million at close for 100% of the business, plus up to $278 million more over five years tied to how the brand performs. Constellation calls SpikedAde a first mover in the "Ade" segment, with an established presence across the eastern U.S.1

Why it matters: SpikedAde didn't need national distribution to get bought. It needed to be first in a segment a large buyer wanted, and most of the price is earned after the deal closes. If you're building toward a sale, own a segment early and keep the numbers that prove it.

Clio: acquired by Stride Consumer Partners

Stride Consumer Partners, a Boston growth-equity firm, acquired a majority stake in Clio, which calls itself "the first and only refrigerated Greek yogurt bar." Clio says it is sold in roughly 60,000 stores and is on track to make more than 150 million bars this year at its own 86,000-square-foot plant in Piscataway, N.J.2

Why it matters: Clio invented a format nobody else sells, then owned the plant that makes it. If your product is a new format, the factory is part of the brand.

JUNI: the only tea in Walmart's new Mood & Mind set

JUNI, the sparkling adaptogenic tea from Jay Shetty, Radhi Devlukia and Kim Perell, is launching in nearly 1,000 Walmart stores in Walmart's new Mood & Mind beverage set. Brian Salmon, Walmart U.S. VP of Beverage, called it "the only tea in the assortment."3

Why it matters: In a brand-new set, JUNI is the one tea, so a shopper who wants tea there has one answer. When a retailer builds a new shelf, pitch the slot where you'd be the only one of your kind.

Bare Beans: a $2.79M seed and a store of its own

After eight years supplying restaurants and institutions in the U.S. and Canada, Bare Beans opened its online store and now ships its kettle-cooked beans nationwide. The move follows a $2.79 million seed investment from Raven Indigenous Capital Partners. Founder and CEO Michelle Huff: "We grow the beans on our farm, we cook them fresh daily, and we pack them cold."4,5

Why it matters: Chefs used the beans for years before any home cook could buy them, and that gave the brand its line: "We developed the third option," between dry and canned. A foodservice business can be the proving ground for a consumer brand.

BERO: the sold-out Spider-Man cans are back

BERO, Tom Holland's non-alcoholic beer, released a second limited run of its Spider-Man: Brand New Day cans, on berobrewing.com and at Topgolf. BERO says the first run sold out within two weeks and lifted site traffic 121%.6

Why it matters: The encore was timed to the film's release at home, so one collab got two launch days. Plan the second run before the first one sells out.
